CALL FOR PAPERS
Dear colleagues,
The 11th Meeting of German-Japanese Society for Social Sciences will be held in Hosei University, Tokyo, Japan between October 7 and 9, 2010. It is also the 20th anniversary of the founding of our society. We invite you to submit proposal for this meeting.
The theme of the meeting will be "Life Course and Life Style in Comparison".
Original, unpublished contributions are solicited in all aspects of social life from different disciprinary perspectives, especially focused on the contemporary situation of Germany and Japan. Topics include, but are not limited to:
Aspects of life course
Socialization and Development
Education and academic career
Occupation and stratification
Marriage and family life
Aging
Gender, ethnicity and career building
Welfare state and social security
Equality and inequality
Inclusion and exclusion
Aspects of life style
Culture and taste
High culture and popular culture
Media and life style
Health and medicine
Sports and body
Fashion and mode
Urban life and rural life
Ecology and consumption
Religion and spiritual life
Papers should be written in English or German. We recommend the English version as far as possible, but the German version will be accepted as well. Deadlines are:
Entry 1 October 2009 (with a tentative title of your paper)
The limit of entry is postponed till 1 November
Abstract 1 March 2010 (50 to 100 words in English or German)
Full paper 1 August 2010 (a template will be provided soon)
All the papers will be published as conference proceedings by some publisher.
